Boston Water Works Pumping Station
Chestnut Hill, MA



Built in 1886-1887, this was a major public water pumping station for the City of Boston, supplying over
30 million gallons of water per day to the City of Boston.  The building was designed by architect H.H. Richardson.

The pumping station was in use up until the 1970's, and in 2011, converted into a museum.
