Base
of Column Work
A common problem with porch columns
is moisture and insects get into the base
of columns, leading to wood rot and eventual failure. Columns need to have
ventilation to breath properly and remain dry. The base of each column has
spacers made from composite material, as well as screening to allow proper
ventilation.
